Julia Patriarche, Ph.D.

Julia received her doctorate at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, in medical science and medical imaging. After completing the doctorate, Julia did fellowships in neurology and medical informatics, also at Mayo Clinic, and served as an assistant professor and an affiliate faculty member at University of Hawaii at Manoa. She received her undergraduate degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, in Applied Science (computer engineering), with an emphasis on computers and medicine. AIA’s Change Detector medical image analysis service is based on Julia’s research at Mayo Clinic and University of Hawaii. Julia is interested in artificial intelligence, and image and signal processing algorithms, and their application to radiology.

Douglas Patriarche, B.Sc. (Computer Engineering)

Douglas is a successful entrepreneur who in 2009 sold his cloud computing startup to BlackBerry and worked as an architect and technology leader in BlackBerry's cloud computing group. Douglas has worked at a number of technology startups and large companies in the fields of telecommunications, cloud computing, and mobile. Douglas received his undergraduate degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, in Applied Science (computer engineering). Douglas's interests include the application of cloud computing to medicine and mobile computing.
